Spring is just around the corner! I am sure of it! It's the best time of the year!
We are going to be moving on to our "Spring" unit - which will include a HUGE variety of topics!
We will be exploring gardening and how plants - including growing our own plants, exploring how we can reuse our waste to help plants grow, what plants need and the parts of a plant. We will be using a discovery and exploration approach to these - having the kids start a variety of seedlings and letting them explore them as they'd like - even if it means destroying them!
In a tandem theme, we will be be discussing nutrition and what our bodies need to grow. We will have a couple of opportunities for group snack and some baking. We will talk about "eating a rainbow," and will include multiculturalism by talking about the different types of food that is eaten around the world.
Fittingly, we will also talk about weather and have an introduction into the water cycle - including rainbows and exploring light with prisms. With the upcoming warm weather, we will be spending as much time as we can outside! We will also be transforming our tree bulletin board to reflect what we are seeing outside.
With spring also comes the bugs, baby animals, and caterpillars! Once again, we will be getting baby caterpillars and watching them grow into butterflies!
